Are search results rankings influenced more from homepage content or from the entire website’s?

Do you know if google, in ranking pages in the search results rankings, attributes more importance to the homepage content (the one you want to be ranked higher) or to the content of the entire website? Thanks!

If you find out let me know, and we’ll both become very wealthy. Everyone claims to know, but no one does, except the people who write Google’s. (And I suspect that, to write code for them, you have to agree to allow them to implant a self-destruct module in your brain, so you can’t disclose the information.)
